Is Connection the Secret Ingredient to a Healthy & Happy Festive Season and New Year?
Warm hugs, merry feasts and time with love ones - the secret ingredients to making the festive season (and the rest of the year) bright.
As a dietitian, my goal is to help people eat better. This typically means talking about what to eat and how much. The truth is, it’s not always about the nutrients or the number on the scale. It’s about HOW we eat.
Enjoying time with others over a delicious meal is something we treasure about the festive season, but is in fact a habit to carry out all year round. Sharing a moment of connection, love and kindness over a delicious meal not only creates treasured memories, but also improves our mental and physical wellbeing.
Studies show those who eat with others regularly feel happier and are more likely to eat a healthier diet. Dining in an environment where we are surrounded by friends and loved ones and not rushing encourages us to eat more mindfully, cherishing the food and making better food decisions.
Bringing people together and inspiring others to share a little bit of love through feasting on good food is the cornerstone of everything we do here at Helen’s. It is what drives us to provide our customers with high quality, handmade products - ready to bring a little love and comfort to your table.
